AGE can predict MACE (major adverse cardiovascular events) in type I diabetes patients

Type I diabetes patients have high risk of MACE (major adverse cardiovascular events) . However, not all type I patients have MACE. What predicts the future event? They are: diabetes duration, statin, hypertension, previous history of MACE, eGFR, Albumin Excretion, and SAF (AGEs on skin).
Interestingly, HbA1c does not predict MACE. AGEs and HbA1c are same glycated products, but AGEs are not irreversible. That’s why AGEs are called “Aging Products”.
